Tratterhof Mountain Sky® Hotel in Meransen

The Tratterhof Mountain Sky® Hotel  ****S bears its name with good reason: In our wellness and activity hotel at 1,500 m above sea level, guests feel very close to the sky and the mountain peaks. On the quiet outskirts of the village of Meransen and at the entrance to the rustic Altfass Valley, you can enjoy wide views of the imposing Dolomites in a sun-kissed panoramic location.

Rooms, suites & cuisine

Our family has been running the Tratterhof Mountain Sky® Hotel for over 40 years and provides a warm feel-good atmosphere. The spacious suites and cosy rooms are furnished with lots of wood and equipped with every comfort. Our kitchen team spoils you in the morning with an X-large breakfast buffet and in the evening with a five-course menu with meat, fish or vegetarian dishes. There are also theme evenings and a regulars’ table for hikers and for paragliders.

Monte Silva Mountain Spa

Our hotel is a member of the Belvita Leading Wellnesshotels Südtirol and delights with 4,000 m² Sky Wellness in the Monte Silva Mountain Spa. The family spa and the adults-only spa are separate areas: For example, there is an infinity pool for the whole family and one for adults only and also 2 sauna worlds. In addition, you can enjoy beauty treatments or massages, book private yoga lessons or work out in the fitness room.

Ski & hiking area Gitschberg Jochtal

The mountain world around the Tratterhof Mountain Sky® Hotel is a paradise for hikers and winter sports enthusiasts. The hotel is located in the hiking and skiing area of Gitschberg Jochtal. It offers a variety of opportunities for young and older holidaymakers in summer and in winter. In addition, hotel guests can take part in the varied weekly programme full of sports and relaxation. Kids and teenagers enjoy the climbing wall, indoor football pitch, cinema and more.

This was our fourth time staying at the Tratterhof with our family – and, as always, it was simply fantastic! You can tell that the work here is done with heart and passion. The entire team is incredibly friendly and attentive; you feel welcome from the very first minute. We were particularly impressed by the hotel's modernization this year – it was a complete success! The new areas are stylish, high-quality, yet cozy. You can feel the attention to detail. The Tratterhof remains unmatched in terms of cuisine: the breakfast buffet is a dream, and the dinner menu is a daily highlight. And of course, the wellness area with its fantastic view over the Pustertal Valley – pure relaxation! We are already looking forward to our next stay. For us, the Tratterhof has long since become a piece of "home in the mountains."

We were there at the end of September and brought our dog with us. As always, we were absolutely thrilled. It was the first time we'd brought our four-legged friend, and they thought of everything. There's even a professional dog shower/bath, which we often used after long hikes. The wellness area is unbeatable and leaves nothing to be desired. The location is stunningly beautiful, with views of the surrounding mountains and direct access to the hiking trails. The staff is always friendly, and the senior manager is incredibly welcoming. We'd love to come back.

One of the best wellness hotels in the Alps, all pools have chlorine-free water and sensational infusions twice a day! An excellent breakfast in the morning and a gourmet dinner in the evening. The new rooms/suites, following the extensive renovation, have also become oases of well-being.

This was our fifth stay at the Tratterhof. This time, we were very excited to see the results of the extensive renovations in summer 2025. We particularly liked the new rooms with whirlpools on the terrace. The atmosphere of the hotel has been preserved despite the extensive modernization of the lobby and bar. The staff (Erik, Pasquale, Gregor, and many others) are very friendly and give guests a sense of family. The hotel is very quiet and, not least with its magnificent spa area, is ideal for both extreme relaxation and hiking or biking excursions. We will definitely be back.
