The family-run Hotel Römerrast***S is surrounded by idyllic vineyards and lush forests in Kaltern. The silence of the place, the familiar atmosphere as well as the Mediterranean climate will make your holidays at the South Tyrolean wine route a very special experience. Our rooms and suites are furnished with much love for details. Available in various sizes, they each offer a bathroom with shower/WC and hairdryer, a balcony with dreamlike view, free WLAN, satellite TV, phone, safe as well as a sitting area. The suites have a separate sleeping area.

Delicious dishes and wines

Every day at Hotel Römerrast starts with a tasty and rich breakfast. In the evening, we serve exquisite dishes combining elements of the South Tyrolean and Mediterranean cuisine, which are always prepared of fresh and regional products. Of course, suitable wines recommended every day always accompany our delicacies. Moreover, our guests love our convivial barbecues in summer and the culinary evenings (until May and in September) taking place once a week. In autumn (from October), you can experience weekly "Törggele" evenings with typical South Tyrolean dishes and sweet chestnuts. 

Wellness and activities to regenerate

The sunny panoramic terrace, the heated infinity outdoor pool with sunbathing lawn as well as our spa oasis with bio sauna, steam bath, solarium, infrared cabin, adventure showers and relaxation area are perfect for relaxing moments. We also offer massages. At Hotel Römerrast, you will find a lot of variety as well. Be it hiking, biking (e-bike rental), bathing, wine tastings, culture or just relaxing: A holiday in Kaltern has options for all tastes.

We stayed at the Hotel Römerrast for six days two weeks ago and felt completely at ease. We were welcomed with a complimentary drink. The rooms are spacious, as is the bathroom. A small sauna area makes the stay perfect. The entire hotel is very clean and well-maintained. The food is plentiful and delicious (traditional German cuisine ). The staff is always friendly, offers tips for hiking or cycling tours, and even lends out maps (if available). The location is excellent, with very little traffic on the small road. There's also a bus stop right in front of the hotel.

The hotel has a great, excellent location. There's a bus stop right outside, making it ideal for day trips and hikes. There's a large terrace, a sauna, and a beautiful infinity pool. We had a large, beautiful double room with a private terrace. Our bathroom was spacious and modern. The staff and the manager were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. There's a great selection at breakfast. The half-board option offers a very good and delicious five-course meal plan in the evening. Highly recommended. Top!

We stayed at the hotel for a week and couldn't be more pleased. Everything was perfect: the service, the food, the room. The barbecue evening deserves special mention: festively set tables, the food, the service: perfect. The chef and his team went to great lengths to satisfy their guests. Thank you very much.

I stayed at the Hotel Römerrast with my daughter and family in June. As always, we received a very friendly welcome. The food was excellent again. We especially enjoyed the beautiful pool with our baby. I'm already looking forward to our next stay!

We stayed at this hotel for nine days at the end of July and were very pleased with everything. We were especially pleased with the dinner and the friendly service. Of course, the pool, breakfast, city bus, etc. were plus points. We happily recommend the hotel. Many greetings from Switzerland and thank you for everything.

A true gem in South Tyrol – pure relaxation with heart! We were fortunate enough to spend a few days at the Hotel Römerrast – and it was an absolute hit from the very first moment! The location is fantastic – quiet, sunny, and with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Ideal for hikers, connoisseurs, and anyone looking to escape from everyday life. The entire hotel is run with great attention to detail, is very well maintained, and exudes a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and comfortable – with a balcony and a stunning view. The fantastic food deserves special mention: every evening a delight, with plenty of regional and creative ingredients. The breakfast also leaves nothing to be desired. What makes the stay truly unforgettable is the warm hospitality of the host family – you don't feel like a guest, but like part of the family. Your wishes are practically read from your eyes. We'll definitely be back – and can warmly recommend the Hotel Römerrast to anyone seeking peace, nature, good food, and genuine South Tyrolean hospitality. Thank you for the wonderful time!
