This valley is situated slightly hidden in the middle of the region and is reachable only by one small street with many bends and a lot of tunnels. The Sarntal is a paradise for nature lovers: untouched nature invites doing excursions and to mountain bike tours. In winter here is a small, familiar skiing resort and for skiing tour hikers a lot of possibilities to develop, for instance during the ski tour to Mt. Schönjöchl.

Tour description

The easy skiing tour begins in Pens in the valley of Sarntal. Cross the Talfer river right and take path 12. Follow the path through a steep wood. Arrived at a fork, turn left and follow the ascent traces to a ground and finally to the peak of Mt. Schönjöchl. All in all you will need 3 hours for the ascent. The descent is the same as the ascent and very easy.
