South Tyrol’s delicacies

Freshly pressed apple juice, delicious rye bread, eggs of free-range chickens, tasty cheese made of cow’s and goat’s milk… South Tyrol there is really no shortage of hearty and sweet titbits.

For many years a lot of products have been produced by the farms of the region, where fruits and berries grow in the garden behind the house, cows and goats graze on lushly blossoming mountain pastures and the bread gets its special taste by the wood-burning oven.

Combining high quality ingredients with proved, expert and gentle production methods – mostly by hand – and leaves out artificial colouring and preservatives, you will receive a lot of healthy delicacies with distinctive taste.

Seal of quality by Red Rooster

Often the delicious products are obtainable directly from the farm or also in specialist shops. In order to tell them from mass production you can adapt yourself to the seal of quality by Red Rooster that stands for highest quality and guaranteed origin.

But a rural producer doesn’t get this mark of quality just like that. He rather has to make the grade and undergo every year severe controls by an independent commission.

Product catalogue „DelikatESSEN“

The range of quality goods of Red Rooster comprises altogether 15 product groups: from fruit juice, syrups, spreads and dried foot through distillates, vinegar and herbs to milk products, eggs, meat and bread.

If you would like to get to know all South Tyrolean culinary delights, you should take a look at the catalogue “DelikatESSEN” (only in German and Italian) that presents quality products made by 68 local farmers. There are described also the single farms, as well as tasty recipes of the regional cuisine.

The brochure is available online, at the South Tyrolean farmer’s association, in tourist offices and shops which sell the quality products of Red Rooster.
