Region: Bozen and environs
From 1st March 2011 to 13th January 2013, the Archaeological Museum in Bozen will host a special exhibition dedicated entirely to the anniversary of the 20years since the the discovery of the Iceman . The exhibition is titled Ötzi20.
Over the past 20 years, from the discovery of the famous hominid, which took place in 1991 in the glacier of the Ötztal, the mummy and its equipment have been subjected to dozens and perhaps hundreds of studies and analysis by researchers around the world. Iceman was able to inspire countless articles and publications and has also aroused the curiosity of ordinary people, adults and children, that in recent years have visited the museum and its famous mummy.
The exhibition will present the latest scientific discoveries made right on the mummy and presenting some interesting tidbits about it. The exhibition will be developed on all four floors of the Museum respectively illustrating the themes of: life, science, fiction and reality.
The entrance ticket to the Archaeological Museum also includes a daily access to the exhibition. The ticket for an adult cost 9 €, for children over 6 years 7€, while children can enter for free.
