Tradition and handicraft in Sarntal
In the Sarntal Valley ancient handicraft and tradition are alive as in grandpa’s times. And why?
The natives are very tradition-bound and countrified and there is an association called “Sarner Gschick” which conserve ancient handicraft. Recently he joined the group also a goldsmith, Bernhard Mair, able to create unique jewelry and unparalleled beauty!
The group “Sarner Gschick” is composed by five young artisans, who are engaged to keep alive the typical handicraft in Sarntal Valley. They produce only high quality products and solely so, how their fathers and grandfathers told them: in conformity with nature and tradition.
Isaak Runggaldier is the sculpture blunder of the group, Johann Thaler the quill embroiderer, Fritz Unterkalmsteiner is the turner, Albert Unterweger the weaver and Bernhard Mair is goldsmith. Visit them at sarner-gschick.com. You will be amazed!
