Short description

Biking around the Kronplatz.

Description

In summer, Plan de Corones/Kronplatz is an equally rewarding hiking and biking region.

Starting point of the tour

Reischach at the valley station of the Kronplatz cable cars

Destination of the tour

Reischach

Route description

The tour starts in Reischach at the valley station of the Kronplatz cable car. From here, cyclists follow the road to Stefansdorf and, at the end of the village, take forest path 12a to St. Martin. From there, follow the same route to Maria Saalen, a popular place of pilgrimage in Pustertal. Bikers continue to the hamlet of Pleaijen and to the hamlets of Blei de Fora and Frena just before Enneberg. This is where the steep ascent to Reischacher Köpfl begins, with two short push sections and the summit of Kronplatz. From the summit of Kronplatz, the route descends steeply to the Geiselsbergerhütte hut, where you turn left along a forest path to the Prackenhütte hut. From there, cyclists cycle to Niederolang and turn right at the railway subway on a beautiful path through the hamlets of Ried and Walchhorn back to Reischach near Bruneck.
