Grape Festival in MeranDUE TO THE REGULATIONS CONCERNING CORONAVIRUS, EVENTS ARE CURRENTLY CANCELLED/POSTPONED!
Region: Meran and environs
The spa town Meran knows how to thank for the large crop of the year and invites to the traditional and colored Grape Festival.
The Grape Festival in Meran always takes place the third weekend in October. In 1886 the local writer Karl Wolf and Friedrich Lentner had the idea for this festivity.
Therefore the Grape Festival in Meran is the oldest and at the same time surely one of the most popular thanksgiving feasts of the region, attracting every year anew many visitors – guests as well as locals.
Highlight of the three-day festival, which offers a very varied programme, is the great procession on Sunday (beginning at 2:15 pm) with gorgeously decorated parade floats, bands, dancing choruses and much more.
Due to the special circumstances of this time, this year's grape festival will be realized in a smarter version, hopefully the parade will take place again in 2021!
