Localities in the region

Today, the historical Sandhof farm – Andreas Hofer’s birthplace – is a museum that reports on the noted Tyrolean man, the Tyrolean struggle for freedom and rural life in the Passeiertal valley: with the permanent display “Heroes & Hofer”, a folklore sector and an open-air exhibition with typical regional farms and a French graveyard.

Personal relics, many exhibits and documentary films narrate Hofer’s story in an authentic ambience and considers it from all angles. In addition, there is a huge folklore collection with traditional costumes, pieces of furniture, rural art and much more.
