Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride

Our editorial team always tries to provide detailed and accurate information, but it is possible that events undergo changes that we are unable to update in real time. Exact details on dates, times and programmes can be obtained directly from the organiser.
The Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride is a spectacular highlight in the calendar of events in the area of Seiser Alm-Schlern, and at the same time one of the biggest equestrian spectacles in South Tyrol.

Hardly another event combines history, sport, culture, dynamic and folklore in such a balanced way.

For the 41st Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride in 2024, the entire festivities are planned again:

  • Qualification in Seis on 11th May 2024
  • Opening ceremony at the village square of Seis on 24th May 2024 with food, drink and knightly show fights
  • Opening parade through Seis with the participating teams, bands, carriages and horses on 25th May 2024
  • The four tournament games of the Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride on 26th May 2024

Highlight: Tournament Games

Participants compete in teams of four. In the challenging tournament games in Kastelruth, Seis, at the swimming pond in Völs and at Prösels Castle, they have to give proof of their ability to handle horses. Team spirit, courage, but also love for the horse are indispensable prerequisites for the tournaments.

The award ceremony at Prösels Castle is the conclusion and at the same time the crowning glory of this unique event.
