Neighboring village Trafoi
Just as Sulden, the picturesque mountain village Trafoi owes its good reputation to the proximity of South Tyrol’s highest mountain and its location next to the famous street to the highest mountain pass in the Alps, the Stilfser Joch.
Sporting aces manage the 50 hairpin bends with the mountain bike. Those, who rather want to enjoy the landscape and the breathtaking panorama, go there by car or motorbike.
Trafoi in Vinschgau is also a meeting point for nature lovers and hikers – and the possibilities for them are almost unlimited. Furthermore, there is a particularity for skiers: From time to time, national and international ski champions practice in the sunny skiing region – not only in winter, but also in summer, because Trafoi is well-known as all-year-round skiing region. For instance, the village is the home of Gustav Thöni, who won several world cups and Olympic medals.
