Kitesurfing in South Tyrol
Hiking, climbing and biking are the frequent sports in South Tyrol. However, South Tyrol offers also another activity for water lovers: kitesurfing!
At beautiful Lake Reschen (6 km long and 1 km wide) in Vinschgau, in the eastern part of South Tyrol, many professionals and hobby kitesurfers love to practice their favourite sport. The lake is mainly famous for its tower emerging from its waters and the colourful kite chutes are present at any season, as snowkiters choose Lake Reschen for their hobby in winter.
The surrounding area daily offers perfect wind conditions all year round, inviting many kitesurf lovers from Italy and environs (Switzerland, Austria and Germany) to come to Vinschgau.
Various kitesurf schools in South Tyrol offer lessons for beginners and advanced kitesurfers and snowkiters. Some of them also organise other activities, such as windsurfing, flyboarding or SUP (some of these disciplines are offered at Lake Garda).
In order to guarantee safety for all course participants, the very first lessons are held next to the lake. In addition to information about theory and practice concerning kitesurfing, the participants also get tips about how to prepare the equipment, various techniques and learn more about the current legislation. As well, the course management also provides any required equipment.
