Bioland farm Moserhof in Steinhaus
High-quality organic meat, various products of cow and sheep milk as well as fresh fruit and vegetables from Ahrntal – Moser farm entirely focusses on natural and regional products.
The Moser farm is located in the peaceful village Steinhaus in Ahrntal. For generations, it has been owned by the Oberhollenzer family that works the farm and the meadows and pastures belonging to it with the greatest care. With the passing of the years the self-sufficient farm developed into a classic dairy cattle farm. In 2003, it changed over to biological farming, being now a member of Bioland association.
Today’s farm owners Michael Oberhollenzer and his wife Elisabeth have always been interested in alternative distribution channels, so they sold some products directly on the farm. Moreover they played a substantial role in the development of “ahrntal natur”, in the course of which they detected that local sheep’s milk cheese was still a gap in the South Tyrolean market. After careful consideration they replaced the cows in the barn with a flock of white, black and spotted dairy sheep. Their “white gold” will be turned into cheese, yoghurt and other delicacies.
Farm shop & gourmet farm tavern
Today, the family-run company is a well-known destinations for guided visits and for all those who would like to learn more about the production and further processing of organic products. Visitors and people with interest, also school classes, tourist parties and other are always welcome at the Moser farm. The kids can become friends with sheep, lambs and other animals of the farm, whereas mum and dad are learning more about the working methods of the Moser farm.
In addition, at the proper farm tavern, the homemade products are used for the preparation of delicious gourmet menus. At the farm shop, you can buy a large selection of the farm’s biological products as well as other products from the region.
