Cross country skiing in Kronplatz area

The Kronplatz is known as South Tyrol’s no 1 ski-mountain. But only a few know that 14 villages constitute the Kronplatz holiday-area  which offer an attractive program also for cross country skiers.

In the surroundings of Kronplatz cross country skiers can turn their rounds in Reischach, in Olang, in St. Vigil, in Kiens, in Pfalzen and in Bruneck. But the most important centers are situated in Gsies Valley and in Antholz Valley, where the biathlon world champion ships take place.

Situated at 1030 – 1935 m above sea level there are 50 km of runs split on 9 cross-country ski runs. 18 % are blue runs, 2 8% red ones and 54 % black runs. The longest cross-country ski run is 33 km long.

Cross country skiing in Gsies Valley

Another mecca of cross country skiing in Kronplatz area is the original Gsies Valley. Every year here takes place the Gsieser Tallauf, a cross country race over 42 km. More than 2500 sportsmen take part at the race. For who does cross country skiing more for enjoyment, can do it on other 53 km of runs.
