Around the Stallwieser-Hof in the Martell Valley
The Stallwieser-Hof is situated at an altitude of 1931 m. Just in front of the hut, a broad forestry track leads off through the Sebelwald forest eastwards. After approx. 1 hour’s walking time the trail finishes at a meadow in the forest, called Wiesboden.
In summer time the mountain pathway marked 15 continues onward to the
meadows, though in the winter this is the point to turn back and regard the
Wiesboden as a rewarding detour. After a further 15 minute walk you
cross a small hollow and climb up to the Suchbühel hill. From the round summit you are rewarded with a superb view of the Martell Valley and the Val Venosta.
Just beyond the Suchbühel a forestry road branches off leading uphill
towards the west. After approx. 1 hour walking time you come on to the
pathway marked 23 and ‘Marteller Höhenweg’
which soon slopes downhill, and onto the pathway marked 5, which leads
uphill from Stallwieser. Follow this footpath down to the
Stallwieser-Hof.
