Antholz: This tranquil side valley of the Puster Valley becomes
an international sports destination in winter. World Cup races and World Championships are held here. Around the cross-country skiing
centre in the upper valley, there are a good 60km of cross-country ski
runs ranging from easy to difficult. Cross-country skiing classes are
offered as well.
Gsieser Valley: Not quite as famous as the neighbouring Antholzer
Valley, eventhough it can be proud of its first class cross-country ski runs and a renowned
cross-country skiing competition, it’s still a very attractive
destination. The 40km long valley run is not all that difficult and
leads through the unspoilt valley past age-old farmsteads.
Hochpuster Valley: With 200km of cross-country ski runs, the Hochpuster Valley fulfils your every wish. The magnet for cross-country skiers is the cross-country stadium in Toblach, the venue for international competitions. Here, there are cross-country runs where even biathlon stars Natalie Santer and Ole Einar Björndalentrain. But there are also superb pleasure runs. In the romantic Fischlein Valley, near Sexten, for example, or the Toblacher Lake run, that can be extended as far as Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Ridnaun: This beautifully situated side valley, not far from Sterzing is, with its good snow conditions and wide valley floor, just made for cross-country skiers. No wonder that many competitions, even international ones, take place in the Cross-Country and Biathlon Centre in Maiern. The highpoint for cross-country skiers is the 21km long valley run, that ends in the centre in Maiern.
