Sulden: holidays near by the king of mountains
You will not believe your own eyes, when you see the 13.000 feet high Mount Ortler from Sulden so closely. Sulden and Mount Ortler in Vinschgau Valley are an outdoor-paradise.
From Sulden you can make many lovely excursions but also extreme climbing tours. In summer it is well worthwhile to go high-mountain-climbing along the glacier and the crags, but if you have no experience with that, you ought to find yourself a tour guide!

Apart from some of the best prepared skiing slopes, the glacier has to offer a magnificent panorama, much sun and cosy mountain huts. Reinhold Messner, the famous mountaineer and author of many books has recently opened a mountain museum in Sulden which is located at the foot of the impressive Mount Ortler.The best thing however is the view from the shaft on to the ‘King’s Peak’ (Königsspitze) where the ice glister and tons of snow cover the falling rock faces. You should by no means give this sight in the Ortler Region in South Tyrol a miss!
