Holidays in Ortles

The Ortles is called the king of the mountains, because with 3905 metres is the highest in South Tyrol.

In summer it is worth hiking mountain on the edge of the glacier along the crevasses ... But attention, unless you have experience with glaciers, would do better to take a guide.

In winter the glacier offers, close to a wonderful panorama, sun and very well prepared slopes, as well as fun in huts. Reinhold Messner, the famous extreme mountaineer and author of many books, has opened here the museum of the mountain, where a tunnel underground explain everything you need to know about ice and snow.

The best thing, however, is the view from the tunnel: great! You can admire ice, snow and steep walls!

We must not lose this view in Ortler in Vinschgau!
