Hiking in Vinschgau Valley

From Martell to Morter-alpine pasture

Martell is a loved holiday area in Vinschgau valley. The various landscapes and the very fact that here, 950 m above sea level grow strawberries and radicchio surprise the visitors.

And finally Martell is a rewarding excursion-area, particularly for who likes excursions from one alpine pasture to others.
A very recommendable excursion in Martell is the one to Morter-alpine pasture, which is more than 500 years old.

The excursion

The excursion begins in the quarter Burgaun at the beginning of Martelltal Valley. From here branchs off forest track 14, which leads you towards the Brandertal Valley. Follow the serpentines until you arrive at the Morter-alpine pasture at 1908 m above sea level. Before you turn back, relax and take a look at the mountains around.
The way back is the same as the way to get there.

The easy hiking-tour is 4 hours long.
