Hiking in Vinschgau Valley

From Latsch to Goldrain

Together with Martell, Latsch is a rewarding holiday area in the middle of the Vinschgau Valley in South Tyrol.

The area is particularly loved by mountain bikers but also excursionist like Latsch and surroundings very much.
The landscape is very varios. In Martell thrive and prosper strawberries at more than 950 m above sea level and radicchio grows there, too.

The excursion

Take the cable car from Latsch to reach St. Martin am Kofel. There keep left and take the path towards Egg hamlet. There you proceed on the driveway to the Forra Farms. The Forra farms are an indicative for farmer's architecture in the past centuries and they are a great subject for a memory-photo. From there you hike in to the Laggar farm and you follow the marked path toward Zuckbichl Hof farm. Before you get there you have to choose the steep path down in direction of Annaberg Castle. Arrived there you take the panorama-path and the farm track to Goldrain Castle, the destination of this hiking-tour.
To return you have to cross the quarter Tiss and the asphalted road to Latsch.
