Kastelbell-Tscharsis one of the most popular holiday destinations in Vinschgau Valley. Both of them lay amidst a wonderful landscape full of orchards and vineyards.
The landscape near the Etsch river is very various and unique. Kastelbell and Tschars are two very picturesque villages, which go perfect with the hilly orchards. In the village Kastelbell you can find the mighty Kastelbell Castle, which seems to touching the sky, so high is it.
Around Kastelbell there a lot of small and lovely villages: Kastelbell, Galsaun, Tschars, Juval, Trumsberg, Marein, Latschinig, Freiberg and Tomberg. Most of them are very countrified and the people lives under the rules of nature.
Many water paths with historical irrigation channels lay on the sunny side of Kastelbell. They are perfect for doing Nordic walking tours and offer always a fantastic view on the whole Vinschgau Valley. Mountain biker, however, find around Kastelbell more then 150 km of bike-roads.
In winter you reach the Schnalstal Glacier in a few minutes.
