Hiking in Vinschgau Valley

Excursion to Glurns-alpine pasture

Arcades, ancient walls and medieval architecture: Glurns is a great example for ancient arts and construction.

South of Glurns is situated the Glurns-alpine pasture at 1978 m above sea level, the destination of our hiking-tip.
Far away from infested routes the path to the Glurns-alpine pasture is very shady, calm and leads you through marvelous forests. Excursions at Glurns are something for nature-lovers.

The excursion

Take at the southern gate of the city path 24 in southern direction and hike on until you reach S. Martin church at the feed of Mount Glurnser Köpfl. There you have to choose the forest track trough a lovely and big forest till the end of the tree line. After a few moments you reach the Glurns-alpine pasture, where you can relax and recharge your batteries.

The way back is the same as the way there. For the whole excursion you need 5 hours.
