The mountain bike tour

The mountain bike tour begins in the center of Sand in Taufers. Take the main road and bike in direction of Luttach. After 300 m you have to take the marked path to Taufers Castle and to cycle on path 33 to Ahornach and to Stockerhof farm. There begins a not-asphalted track which leads you to Mt. Kleinjöchl.

But before you get there you must unsettle your bike and carry it for about 20 minutes to the peak of Mt. Kleinjöchl (2273 m above sea level). Recompense for the laborious ascent is a fantastic view over the Rieserferner-Nature Park.

To turn back to Sand in Taufers you have to cycle down to Pojen. Arrived there and at the Pichlerhof farm, you have to take path 33 and to return to the starting point.

The entire mountain bike tour is 22 km long and lasts 4,5 hours.
