Prettau: mountain bike tour for sporty gourmets

Prettau is situated at the end of Tauferer Ahrntal Valley and it offers a lot of leisure-time-proposals for its visitors: we recommend for instance to visit the ancient mine or to make a rewarding tour with or without mountain bike to discover the surroundings of Prettau.

The mountain bike tour

Starting point is St. Peter close to Prettau. Take the signpost forest track and cycle to the Samhütten huts. Get over a difference in altitude of 800 m and pedal on a flat trail into the valley. Many nice huts border the trail: stop in one of them and taste the delicious specialties of Tauferer Ahrntal Valley!

After a break bike to Schüttalm-alpine pasture and then on a small but wonderful path to the marvelous Obertauern-alpine pasture. From here you can return to your starting point, but only after you have enjoyed the beautiful mountains around the hut.

The whole tour is 32 km long. You will need 5 hours to do it.
