Hiking in Tauferer Ahrntal Valley

Hiking-holidays in Mühlwald: to Lenkjöchl Refuge

This excursion is situated in the northernmost region of South Tyrol. Without climbing any glacier you will have a real impression about the mightiness of the fantastic mountains in the Zillertal Alps during this excursion.

The hiking tour doesn’t begin in Mühlwald but in Kasern. Get there by bus.

The excursion

The excursion begins in Kasern at the northern end of Tauferer Ahrntal Valley at 1595 m above sea level. Taking path 6 you will hike through the Röttal Valley and after 3 hours of walk you will reach the Lenkjöchl Refuge at 2603 m above sea level. The refuge was built in 1887 and it is even today one of the most impressing shelters in South Tyrol.

To turn back to Kasern take path 12 and walking through the Windtal Valley.

The easy excursion lasts about 6 hours.
