Mountain biking in Tauferer Ahrntal Valley

From Luttach to Gruber-alpine pasture and back

This tour is only doable for very well-trained mountain bikers whit much experience in technical trails. You will see: mountain biking in Luttach is nothing for wimps.

The mountain bike tour

Start the tour in Luttach. Bike to St. Johann and at a crossover take the street to Kottersteghof farm. On the right begins the tobogganing path. Follow it until you reach the summit station of Klausberg ski-lift. From there you have to cycle to Gruber-alpine pasture (attention at the markings!).

Arrived at Gruber-alpine pasture continue the tour on the right side. Arrived at a fork, take the signpost path to Steinerhöfe farms. After the first bend ride to the left and after you have passed a weekend-house take path 10 and a marked forest track to Pojen. Arrived there, cycle to Roaner hotel, cross the river and take path 33 to ride down to Sand in Taufers. The downhill-trail is very challenging: take care of you!

Arrived in Sand in Taufers you have to cycle to Luttach taking the cycling path.

The entire mountain bike tour is 50 km long.
