The excursion

The excursion begins in St. Johann, 8 km distant from Luttach (get there by bus), at the Sandbichlerhof farm at 1463 m above sea level. On path 6 you have to walk to the viewpoint “Stöckl am Faden” and continuing your excursion on a not-signpost path you will reach soon a other viewpoint called “Obersteiner Holm” where you have an amazing view over the great mountains of Tauferer Ahrntal Valley and even over the Dolomites in the South.

Taking path 6 you will get soon to Niederhofer-alpine pasture, the destination of this medium-difficult excursion. To return to St. Johann and to Luttach take the same paths as to get there. The whole excursion lasts 5-6 hours.
