Salurn on the road of wine

Salurn is the gate to the south and in the same time it marks the border between Italian and German language area. It is the most southern part of South Tyrol and of the german language area.

Near the romantic castle Haderburg and amidst lovely vineyards and orchards is situated Salurn. Beautyful residences and castles are forming the medieval centre and they show the importance of the village already centuries ago.

Around Salurn there’s a lot to discover: you can go on the trace of Albrecht Dürer or see where Napoleon, Martin Luther or Ludwig Richter passed by.

In spring Salurn seems like a coloured sea of flowers and apple trees. In summer there are many fesitivities, like the “Torbogen”- or meadow-parties. In autumn you can participate at the old Törggelencostum, taste new wine and fried chestnuts.
