From Riffian to the Upper Obisell Alp

Riffian and Kuens are two very small villages near Meran. Together they form a lovely and recommendable holiday area for who is searching relax and distance from everyday live in the city. Also excursionists and mountaineers will feel fine here.

In Riffian and Kuens excursionists will find the mountain-idyll, which normally they know only from TV. There are only a few meters which separate the villages from a mostly untouched nature, lovely lakes and breathtaking views.

The excursion

The tour starts at the "Obersthöfe" farms to north of Riffian in the hamlet Vernuer. Take path 21a and follow it through larch forests and serpentines until you reach the forest line and the Hahnenkamm Rifuge. Here you can make a short break before you walk on a marked path to the Under Obisell Alp and on path 5 the Upper Obisell Alm, the destination of this tour. You will be surprised how original and untouched the nature is here.

To turn back to Riffian you have to take the same route. All in all you walk about 6 hours.
