Cycling around Naturns’ alpine pastures

Naturns is situated exactly between Vinschgau Valley and the region of Meran and surroundings. Here the advantages of both holiday areas are united and bikers find a lot of demanding and panoramic tours.

A very recommendable mountain bike tour is the one from Naturns to its alpine pastures. From valley you cycle 25 km on very rocky and steep tracks to the panoramic high alpine refuges of Naturns. The tour is suited for well trained people.

The mountain bike tour

The tour starts in the center of Naturns. After you have crossed the line of the Vinschgerbahn railway you have to pedal in direction of Gaulbach. After 8 very steep kilometers you reach already the alpine pastures. But the tour is not yet finished: on forest tracks you arrive also to the alpine pastures Rauher Bühel, Jocher and Aschbach.

To get back to Naturns, you have to cross the Mahder forest and to cycle along the Vinschgau cycling path until you reach Naturns.

Please look always at the signs: there are so many path and tracks that you easily can lose the orientation.
