From Lana through the Valley of Hell to St. Pankraz

The Valley of Hell is nothing to be afraid of. On the contrary! The Valley of Hell which begins in Lana and finishes near St. Pankraz in Ultental Valley is such a lovely and original valley, where time seems to have stopped 100 years ago.

The excursion

The tour starts in the Gampen Street in Lana near Meran. Take the old path to Völlan on the right hand until you reach the Runggöglhof where you hike on path 6 to the hamlet Retais and through lovely chestnut forests and coniferous forests.

Arrived at the beginning of Ultental Valley you pass the farms Höllentalhof and Schlossegghof and get off the right side to Falschauer River. Cross the River and walk through meadows to St. Pankraz, the finish of this tour.

You need an hour and a half for the excursion. For the way back we recommend taking the public transport.
