Walking around Villnöss Valley on Adolf Munkel path

Hackly mountains, lushly meadows, deep forests and rushing brooks: the Villnöss Valley is a dream of untouched nature, mainly thanks to traffic limitation and nature conservation terms.

On the Adolf Munkel path you can discover the beauty of Villnöss Valley, the alpine pastures and forests and the surroundings of the big mountains of Geißler and Peitlerkofel.

The excursion

The Adolf Munkel path begins at the parking place near Zanseralm-alpine pasture. There you have to take path 9 in direction of Tschantschenon-alpine pasture and walk to the bridge. There you change on path 35, the continuation of the Adolf Munkel path. Hiking on path 35 you arrive at the Gschnagenhardt-alpine pasture and finally at the Brogles-alpine pasture at the feed of the Geißler mountains. Relax in the cosy hut and taste some farmer’s deliciacies.

To turn back to Zanseralm-alpine pasture, take path 28. For the entire excursion in Villnöss Valley you need 5 hours.
