Tour to Mount Villanders

Villanders in Eisacktal Valley and its surroundings are an ideal territory for excursions and leisure-time activities. Layed in the middle of the Sarntal Alps, Villanders and Mount Villanders are advantageous hiking-destinations.

The excursion

The easy hiking-tour begins at the Gasserhütte Refuge at 1744 m above sea level. You reach the shelter from Villanders by car.

Follow the path to the "Totenkirchlein" Chapel and to Mount Totenberg (2208 m above sea level). Take the path to Mount Villanders at 2509 m above sea level, the destination of this excursion.

Enjoy the panorama and instead of turn back to the refuge, walk to Sarner Scharte and to Gasteiger Sattel and from there back to Gasserhütte hut.
The excursion lasts 5-6 hours.
