A tour for trail specialists: from Sterzing to Pfunders Pass

The mountain bike tour from Sterzing to Pfunders is a classic cycling-tour in Eisacktal Valley. The route is difficult and demanding and absolutely nothing for beginners.

You will get over 2300 m altitude difference and a distance of 79 km. Amazing!

The mountain bike tour

The cycling tour begins in Sterzing. Take the small road to Fußendraß Hamlet in Pfitschertal Valles (1382 m above sea level). Arrived there, take the forest track towards Pfunders Pass and Großbergalm-alpine pasture. On a very steep path you arrive at the alpine pasture (1930 m above sea level). After 200 m you cross a brook. Follow now path 17a to Pfunders Pass (2575 m above sea level).

To turn back to Sterzing bike to the Weitenberg-alpine pasture and then on the forest track to Pfunders (1158 m above sea level). Continue the return to Vintl and on the cycle path you will reach Schabs, Franzensfeste and finally Sterzing.
The tour lasts 7 hours and a half.
