Hiking in Eisacktal Valley

Up and down on the Lüsen alpine pastures

The alpine pasture of Lüsen is the biggest one in South Tyrol and together with Rodeneck alpine pasture it forms a rewarding hiking territory.

Gorgeous meadows, deep forests, great views over the Dolomites and the Sarntal Alps and countless paths are enough reasons for visit the Lüsen alpine pastures.

The excursion

Starting point of the excursion is the car-park above Kompatsch farm in Flitt hamlet near Lüsen. Take the forest track 2/10 with the indication “Kreuzwiese”. Arrived at 1620 m above sea level there is a road junction. Choose path 2 and following him you will reach soon the beautiful alpine pastures.

After a while you will reach another road junction: take the forest track 2 and pass meadows, forests and brooks and finally you arrive at Kreuzwiese Refuge, the destination of this excursion. Relax there and taste some excellent specialities and most of all enjoy the amazing view over the mountains and landscapes around.

The whole excursion is 3 hours long.
