Hiking in the Dolomites

From Toblach to Drei Zinnen Refuge

The Drei Zinnen mountains in the Dolomites are surely unique in the whole world and absolutely worth seeing. Discover them step by step during a rewarding excursion from Toblach to Drei Zinnen Refuge.

The excursion

Starting point of the excursion is Toblach. From there you have to drive to Landro Valley. Park your car near Hotel Drei Zinnenblick and walk in to the Rienztal Valley. There you have to pass by the mouth in to the Rimbianco Valley and hiking along the Rimbon Valley you reach soon the Drei Zinnen Refuge at 2405 m above sea level. Here you can relax and enjoy some South Tyrolean delicacies and the amazing view over the Dolomites, before you walk back to your car.

For the way back there are 2 possibilities: return on the same paths as to get there or turn to the left to Col Forcellina at the end of Rienztal Valley, where you reach a wonderful panoramic point. From there you walk on to Forcella Col di Mezzo, where you have to take path 108 on the right side, which brings you to Arghena Valley and to the Rimbianco-alpine pasture. From there you get back to the parking place. For the entire excursion you need 3 hours and a half.
