Hiking in the Dolomites
The Tomaselli Fixed-Rope-Route
The Tomaselli Fixed-Rope-Route is the most famous fixed-rope-routs in the Dolomites and surely also one of the most demanding. We recommend it only to expert mountaineers.
The excursion
Starting from
St. Kassian you first of all have to drive to
Falzarego
Pass. Park there and take path 402 which leads you to
Forcella
Travenanzes at 2500 m above sea level. Continuing the tour, you have to
take path 20b to reach the Grande Forcella and the
Bivacco della Chiesa
(look at the marks). Here begins the famous fixed-rope-route, which is
very challenging and which brings you to
Mount Südliche Fanes Spitze at
2980 m above sea level.
To turn back to Falzarego Pass you have to descent on the
fixed-rope-route. The entire tour
lasts 6 hours and only doable for
good climbers.
