From St. Christina to St. Jakob’s church
One of the oldest and most romantic churches in South Tyrol is the St. Jakob’s church near St. Christina in Gröden Valley. It is popular place for weddings and romantic hours.
The excursion
Start your excursion at hotel Dosses in
St. Christina. Hike along the
Cisles brook to the Plesdinaz road. Walk the road till the end and take
the asphalted road on the right side to reach the
wonderful meadows of
Prauleta. Here begins a country lane bordered by beautiful larches. The
country lane finishes in path 4. Take it until you reach a wayside
commemorative cross take the not-signpost path to the
lovely St.
Jakob’s church.
The St. Jakob’s church was built in 1181 and it is the oldest church in Gröden Valley in the
Dolomites.
