Exploring the Rasen Biotope

Rasen is a small village situated at the beginning of Antholz Valley in Pustertal Valley. Around Rasen there is a lot to discover and there are many high mountains to climb. An excursion for the whole family is the one across the Biotope of Rasen.

The excursion

The Rasen Biotope is full of everglades, moors and reeds. The fen is accessible by a new nature trail which gives lot information about flora and fauna. Birds, fishes and many frogs live here, they are hidden behind the reeds and children like to discover them!

To reach the Biotope you have to walk from Antholz-Mittertal to Riedhof farm. Here begins path 1 which leads you to the Burgegger and Nösslerhof farms and to Antholz Niedertal. Soon you will reach the Rasen Biotope. Much shorter is naturally the walk from Rasen to the Biotope.
