Niederdorf: from Pragser Wildsee Lake to Mount Seekofel

The Dolomites are really a nature wonder, there are no doubts. Excursions here are always worthwhile and almost ever unforgettable. For instance the excursion in Niederdorf: it begins at Pragser Wildsee Lake and brings you to the mighty Mount Seekofel.

The excursion

The medium difficult tour begins at the enchanted Pragser Wildsee Lake in the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park. Walking along the Western river of the Lake you reach soon to a signpost. Take the path “Dolomiten Höhenweg 1” and follow it through forest, rocky tracks and steep parts to Seekofel Refuge. There you can relax for a while before you begin the ascent to Mount Seekofel peak.

Continue your excursion following the signposts on hiking traces. Arrived at the peak (2810 m above sea level) you will be amazed of the marvelous view over the Pragser Wildsee Lake and the great Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park.
