Mountain biking around Mount Kronplatz

In winter Mount Kronplatz is one of the most popular skiing areas in South Tyrol.

In summer, however, there are many possibilities for excursionists and cyclers. For well-trained mountain bikers we present a special and demanding mountain bike tour.

The mountain bike tour

The 44 km long tour begins in Reischach at the valley station of Kronplatz ski-lift. Cycle to Stefansdorf and at the end of the village you have to take forest track 12 which leads you to St. Martin and to Maria Saalen, a well known sanctuary in Pustertal Valley. Arrived there follow the small street to Pleaijen, Blei de Fora and Frena and before you reach Enneberg you have to choose the path to Mount Reischacher Köpfl and to Mount Kronplatz. After a very demanding uphill-track you reach the peak of Mount Kronplatz (2272 m above sea level).

Now you have to descent to Geiselsbergerhütte hut and then on the left side to Pracken hut. Follow the signposts to Niederolang. There you have to take the cycling track back to Reischach.

For the challenging tour you need about 6 hours. The difference in altitude comports 2500 m.
