Cycling in Hochpustertal Valley: to the Marchkinkele
The
Hochpustertal Valley is the most easterly holiday-area of
South Tyrol and it is a really idyllic region: there are situated the
Drei Zinnen Peaks, the beautiful mountains of
Sexten Dolomites and apart of them, there are many romantic valleys and alpine pastures. A great view over the region you have from the
Marchkinkele viewpoint.
The mountainbike tour
The tour – it lasts
5 hours – begins in
Innichen. Cycle towards eastern
along the
Drau River until you reach Vierschach. Cross the main road
using the subway and pedal to
Jaufen Inn. Go on and on the second fork
take the forest track to arrive to the
Silvester square and to the
Silvester chapel. After a short break you have to take the old military
track which brings you to Marchkinkele viewpoint, the destination of
this cycling tour. Enjoy the breathtaking view over the mountain-world
of
Hochpustertal Valley and relax before you return to Innichen.
