The excursion

Starting point of the demanding excursion is Antholz Niedertal. Walk to the church, turn to the left and hike to the Maierhöfe farms, taking the path to Grentenalm-alpine pasture near the tree line.

Continue the excursion on path 6 on which you reach the Grentenkreuzl Cross (2250 m). There begins the “Grentensteig”-path: take it to reach the peak of Mount Rammelstein at 2483 m above sea level. Enjoy the view over the Rieserferner-mountains!

To turn back take the same paths as to get there or choose the variant, passing by Laneralm-refuge and taking path 4.
