A new cinema in Bozen

First cinema opened up in South Tyrol

South Tyrol has received a new cinema, one with 7 air-conditioned screens, with a lot of legroom and huge silver screens.

The new cinema in Bozen is a real sensation for South Tyrol: before the Cineplexx opened up, there were only small cinemas which didn’t show a lot of movies and most of them only in one language.

You have to know that South Tyrol is bilingual. In Bozen 80 % of the locals speak Italian, the rest German. In the rest of South Tyrol 64 % are speaking German, 24 % Italian and about 4 % Ladin. So it’s sometimes difficult to watch movies in the own language. Because of that the new Cineplexx shows blockbusters in German and Italian, and movies from Italy or Germany in the original language.
